Alexander Misharin

Alexander Sergeyevich Mischarin (Russian Александр Сергеевич Мишарин; born January 21, 1959 in Sverdlovsk, now Yekaterinburg ) is a Russian politician and engineer. He's since November 23, 2009 Governor of the Sverdlovsk Oblast and thus from Eduard Rossel.

Biography

Alexander Sergeyevich Mischarin grew up in a railway family. In 1981, he received an engineering degree at the State Electromechanical Institute of Engineers in rail transport in Yekaterinburg. Then he worked until 1989 at the State Railway of Sverdlovsk. From 1989 to 1991 worked Mischarin with the construction of the Metro Yekaterinburg. In this project, he was responsible for the energy supply. After the project was completed with the commissioning of the Metro in April 1991, Alexander Mischarin returned to the State Railway of Sverdlovsk, where he was deputy head of department in the field of energy supply. He was promoted to chief engineer of the railway company in 1996.

In 1998 he moved into politics and was appointed Deputy Minister of Railways of the Russian Federation. From February to May 2002 he was appointed acting head of the Russian Ministry of Railways after the former Minister Nikolai Aksjonenko had resigned from office. In May 2002 he became chairman of the Sverdlovsk railway company. In the same year, his local political involvement began in the Sverdlovsk Oblast. In the elections for the local parliament Oblast Swerslowsk in March 2004, he was on list # 3 on the United Russia party. From June 2004 to March 2009 was Mischarin Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation. In March 2009 he was appointed director of the Department of Industry and Infrastructure of the Government of the Russian Federation. In August 2009, he was placed by his United Russia party as the leading candidate to the post of governor of Sverdlovsk Oblast. On November 10, 2009, he was nominated by President Dmitry Medvedev as the new governor of the oblast and confirmed by the local parliament on November 17. The inauguration took place on 23 November 2009.

Alexander Mischarin is a member of the Supreme Council of the Kremlin United Russia party.
