Alexander Monro (primus)
Alexander Monro I ( born September 19, 1697 in London, † July 10, 1767 in Edinburgh) was a Scottish anatomist and founder of the Edinburgh Medical School.
Monro studied in London, Paris and Leiden. 1719 he was a lecturer in anatomy at Surgeons' Company at Edinburgh and in 1721 professor.
Monro was elected in 1723 a Fellow of the Royal Society. He was known for his anatomy of the bones and nerves.
