Alexander Prokhanov

Alexander Andreyevich Prokhanov (Russian Александр Андреевич Проханов; born February 26, 1938 in Tbilisi ) is a Russian writer and journalist. He describes himself as a socialist patriot and, with its fusion of left and nationalist ideas (see also cross- front ) of the most controversial writers of the country.

Life

Prokhanov first worked until 1970, several years as a foreign correspondent for Pravda in Afghanistan, Nicaragua and Nagorno-Karabakh. He was the first reported in 1969 by the incident at the Ussuri, the peak of the Sino-Soviet border conflict. In 1990 he became chief editor of the Russian magazine Djen, called since 1993 Sawtra (tomorrow). Since 1971, he has published over 40 books in the Soviet Union and Russia today, including a number of nationally known political novels and non-fiction books.

His 2002 published political thriller " Mr. RDX " (Russian: Господин Гексоген, Gospodin Gexogen ) in 2004 was a national bestseller in Russia. In the novel, he constructs a tangle of Russian intelligence in an actually taken terrorist attack in Moscow, triggering a fierce nationwide debate from. Officially Chechen terrorists were accused of perpetrating the attack. Evidence was not presented until today.

Politically, he is also otherwise for years a very dazzling and controversial personality - similar to his colleague Eduard Limonov. He was both an advisor to the presidential candidate Gennady Andreyevich Zyuganov of the Communist Party and in the crossfire of criticism for extreme right-wing statements.
