Life
Alexandre Aja is the son of Alexandre Arcady, a French filmmaker and film critic Marie Jouan. He is married to the Moroccan filmmaker Laïla Marrakchi.
Film career
As an actor
In 1983, he starred in the movie The Big Carnival (Le Grand carnaval ), in which his father directed. Also worked as an actor, he was in 1992 in another film of his father, Judgement Day (Le Grand pardon II).
As a director and screenwriter
Internationally known Aja, however, was as a director and screenwriter of the 2003's horror film High Tension ( Haute tension ) and the remake of Wes Craven's classic The Hills Have Eyes - The Hills Have Eyes (2006). In March 2012 he was appointed as a director of the comic adaptation Undying Love, besides it also leads in the film adaptation of Joe Hill's fantasy novella horn, the Director.
2004 was voted one of the 10 best directors Alexandre Aja by the American magazine "Variety".
As a producer
Aja is involved in Maniac remake of Alexandre Aja Maniac, as executive producer and produced thus for the second time after P2 - cries in the car park a Franck Khalfoun movie.
