Alexandre Cellier

Alexandre Eugène Cellier ( born June 17, 1883 in Molière -sur -Cèze, † March 4, 1968, Paris) was a French composer and organist.

Biography

Cellier studied with Alexandre Guilmant until 1908. In 1908, he won the 1st prize for playing the organ at the Paris Conservatoire ( class Guilmant ). He also studied with Henri Dallier and Widor. He was organist / Titulaire at Temple d' Etoile in Paris from 1910 until his death in 1968 and played on a three -manual Cavaillé -Coll organ of 1875, expanded by Mutin, with 32 registers.

He was always on the go at home and abroad as a concert organist for both organ and accompanied with orchestra. His music was loud Vierne " very nice, modern and aesthetically ," and finds " an excellent reputation ".

In addition to his music, he has also written a book about organs and registration instructions. It is also applicable as a writer for the French translation of the Bach chorales.
