Alexandros Margaritis

Alexandros Margaritis (Greek Αλέξανδρος Μαργαρίτης, born September 20, 1984 in Bonn) is a Greek race car driver who also has the German nationality. From 2005-2007 he was in the DTM works driver for Mercedes -Benz.

Career

Margaritis its debut in motorsport as so many talents resident in Germany in neighboring, less expensive abroad: he took 13 years to second place in the Dutch FSA kart championship. 1999 was followed by a fourth place finish in the German Junior Karting Cup. From there he moved first to the single-seater camp where in Formula BMW, he finished 14th overall in 2002. In the two following years, he drove in the Formula 3 Euro Series with no outstanding success.

In 2005 it engaged the private team Mücke Motorsport for the DTM, where he piloted a AMG -Mercedes C-Class last year. In 2008, Margaritis drove the 24-hour race in Spa on a Corvette C6.R in the Meuspath at the Nürburgring -based Phoenix Racing. In 2011, he started for the team Engstler in the ADAC GT Masters on a BMW ALPINA B6 GT3 and won together with his teammate Dino Lunardi the drivers' standings.
