Alexandrovsk, Perm Krai

Alexandrowsk (Russian Александровск ) is a city in the Perm region (Russia) with 14,495 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The city is located on the western flank of the Middle Urals, about 180 km north-east of the regional capital Perm at the Lytwa, a river in the river system of the Kama.

Alexandrowsk is the administrative center of the Rajons Alexandrovski and seat of the municipality Alexandrovskoe gorodskoje posselenije to the next to the city nor the settlements Lunjewka, Lytwenski and Taly and villages Baschmaki, Malaya Wilwa and Ust- Lytwa belong.

The town lies on the railway line Tschussowoi - Kisel - Solikamsk (Station Kopi ).

History

Alexandrowsk arose in 1783 in connection with the establishment of the first mentioned after the river Lytwinski Sawod iron work, which by the first name of the owner later was given the name Alexandrovski Sawod in a row. 1929 was the place the status of an urban-type settlement and 1951 under the current name of a town.
