Alexei Volodin

Alexei Volodin (Russian Алексей Володин, scientific transliteration Alexei Volodin, often in the spelling Alexei Volodin, born July 17, 1977 in Leningrad ) is a Russian pianist.

Life

At the age of ten years, Alexei Volodin was inducted into the Gnessins Special Music School in Moscow, where he first took lessons at I. Tschaklina and later with T. Selikman. At age 17, he continued his studies with Prof. Elisso Virsaladze at the Moscow Conservatory. 2001/ 02 he rounded his studies at the International Piano Foundation Theo Lieven from Como.

He won several awards at international competitions, including the 2003 1st Prize at the 9th Concours Géza Anda in Zurich.

Volodin occurs in recitals in Russia, Spain, France, Italy, Australia, Switzerland and Germany. He has performed with orchestras such as the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, the Radio - Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart des SWR, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the NDR Radio Philharmonic, the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, the Orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre of St. Petersburg under the direction of conductors such as Christopher Hogwood, Jean -Bernard Pommier, David Zinman, Eiji Oue, Carlo Rizzi, Stefan Blunier, Gerd Albrecht, Valery Gergiev and Vladimir Fedosseyev.

In his debut recital in May 2005 at the Théâtre des Champs- Elysées Alexei Volodin celebrated a success, the re-invitations for seasons from 2005 to 2008 followed. Alexei Volodin was, inter alia, in Barcelona, Lyon, Rome, Madrid, at the Festival "Piano aux Jacobins " in Toulouse, at the Festival de Radio France Montpellier, at the Festival Heidelberger Frühling occurred in 2005/2006. In September 2006 he completed his first tour of China. He has recorded two CDs, one of which was a live recording of his debut recital at Munich's Hercules Hall with works by Ludwig van Beethoven ( Opus 111), Sergei Rachmaninoff ( Moments Musicaux Op. 16) and Sergei Prokofiev ( Sonata No. 7).
