Alexei Weniaminowitsch Kostygow (Russian Алексей Вениаминович Костыгов; born July 5, 1973 in Yaroslavl, Soviet Union ) is a Russian handball player. Its body length is 1.90 m.

Kostygow, the (16 Rückennr. ) plays in St. Petersburg and the Russian men's national handball team ( Rückennr. 73) runs, is handball goalkeeper.

Alexei Kostygow began in his hometown at the local sports school with the handball game. After graduating, he came to the first division in 1990 caustic Volgograd. There he was in 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999 Russian master. In 2004 he moved to the serial champions Medwedi Chekhov, where he was in 2005, 2006 and again in 2007 Russian Champion and won the 2006 European Cup Winners' Cup.

Alexei Kostygow has 131 caps for the Russian men's national handball team denied (as of December 2009). For a long time he stood in the shadow of another Russian goalkeepers as Andrei Lavrov; he is a regular player in his country since 2004. The bronze medal at the 2004 Olympic Games has been his only international title. With Russia, he also took part in the Men's Handball World Championship for Men in Germany in 2007 and finished sixth.
