Alf Konningen

Alf Could Willingen ( * June 24, 1901 in Sandsvær; † January 27, 1978 in Kongsberg ) was a Norwegian skier.

Biography

Could Ingen was one of the pioneers of alpine ski racing in Norway. In 1934 he won in his home town of Kongsberg the first downhill race of the country. In the following winter he went to Germany and France to gain experience and to compete with the runners from the Alpine countries.

In February 1935 he took part in the World Ski Championships in Switzerland Murren, when he drove in downhill skiing to 18th place. The following year he was a member of the Norwegian team at the Olympic Winter Games in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, where for the first time alpine competitions were on the program. After driving in the downhill in 5th, he finished ninth in the slalom and finished second in the final combined score rank 8, 1938, he was third in the combination at the inaugural Norwegian Ski Championships.

After ending his sports career he worked until his retirement as a lathe operator.
