Alfred Owen

Sir Alfred George Beech Owen KBE (* 1909, † October 29, 1975 ) was a British industrialist and 1929 located at head of one of the largest privately owned companies in Britain.

Life

His education was Owen at the Lickey Hills School Oundle and Cambridge University. The Alfred by his father Ernest Owen (1868-1929), together with John Tunner Rubery Rubery Owen & Company, founded in operation, he took over in 1929 it came up the chairmanship of the Owen Organization - founded in 1893, it included 53 companies, mainly automotive. Incorporated into the company network was the British Racing Motors team and the company motor panels, of which the record car Bluebird CN was built 7. Private Alfred Owen engaged in the spread of the Christian Gospel and was closely associated with the Billy Graham Crusades.

Honors

In 1954 he Commander of the Order of the British Empire and in 1961 was appointed a Knight Bachelor.

The University College of North Staffordshire in 1965 awarded him an honorary doctorate.
