Alfred Pichler

Alfred Pichler (born 18 December 1913 in Oštrelj in Bosanski Petrovac, in the former Habsburg monarchy of Austria- Hungary, now Bosnia and Herzegovina; † 17 May 1992, Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina) was a bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Banja Luka.

Life

Alfred Pichler was belonging in the village Oštrelj, in one of today's Entiteten of Bosnia and Herzegovina Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Canton Una -Sana, born. On March 13, 1937 at the Diocese of Banja Luka, ordained at the age of 23 years, the Roman Catholic priest. At the age of 45 years, on 22 July 1959 he was appointed Bishop of Banja Luka. The episcopal ordination was Pichler, donated by the Bishop of Dubrovnik, Severin Pernek on 18 October 1959. At the age of 75 years, on 15 May 1989, an emeritus Alfred Pichler. Overall, Pichler was for 48 years a Roman Catholic priest, of which 29 years Bishop of Banja Luka.

As Bishop Emeritus, released from diocesan leadership roles, Alfred Pichler died on 17 May 1992 at the age of 78 years in the Diocese of Banja Luka.
