Alfredo Bini

Alfredo Bini ( born December 12, 1926 in Livorno, † 16 October, 2010 Tarquinia ) was an Italian film producer. He is known primarily as a producer of numerous films by Pier Paolo Pasolini.

Career

Alfredo Bini came to Rome in 1945, about the theater and extras roles in the Cinecittà studios, he came to the film. There he worked primarily in the fifties as a production assistant. In 1960 he founded with writers Furio Scarpelli and Agenore Incrocci and directors Mario Monicelli and Luigi Comencini the production company Film 5 However, the company broke up after the first film A cavallo della tigre again.

In 1960, Bini his own production company Arco film. Mauro Bolognini over, the director of his first production Il bell'Antonio, he met Pier Paolo Pasolini, whose films he produced from Accattone (1961 ) to Edipo re ( 1967). Federico Fellini had withdrawn the initially promised production of Pasolini's debut film Accattone through his production company Federiz after reviewing the first material. Bolognini, who had seen the script in Pasolini by chance, but was excited and gave the film to Bini. He produced increasingly for the TV and video market.

Bini initiated in 1987 for three years the film market of the Milan Fair ( MIDEF ), restructured this successfully and preparing it for the modern development of commercial markets in the film and television distribution.

The Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, the Foundation of the National Film School and Cinematheque Italy, Bini appointed for the years 1994-1995 as the successor of Lina Wertmuller member of the Commission ( Commissario straordinario ).

Life

Alfredo Bini was married from 1963 to 1980 to actress Rosanna Schiaffino, who also played in many of his productions. The two have a daughter Anna Bella ( b. 1969 ).
