A hairband (also Deely, plural: Tiara ) is a nearly annular, downwardly open object for retaining the hair, especially the bangs. Often it is also used as hair ornaments. Today it is mostly made ​​of plastic. A magnificent variant is the tiara. In their end, they strongly resemble the hairpins.

Already during the Romanesque period were hair maturity in use. From the headbands used at that time, the chaplet developed. The popularity probably had something to do with the Church's ban on the open carrying of hair and held the whole of the Middle Ages. Since the 1980s, he is again reinforced in use.
