Alida Abola

Alida Abola ( born November 29, 1954) is a former Latvian orienteer.

Abola began as a 18 -year-old with the orienteering. But with their first World Cup participation in 1989 she was already 34 years old. In the Swedish Skaraborg she succeeded winning the bronze medal in the individual competition of the women behind Marita Skogum from Sweden and Jana Gáliková from Czechoslovakia. In the Soviet Season with Ede Umarik, Irina Namowir and Danute Girinskaitė it reached number five. After the collapse of the Soviet Union Abola started yet at the World Championships in 1993 and 1995 for Latvia, but it reached no appreciable successes more.

Abola now lives in Sigulda, Latvia and further starts in orienteering competitions such as the so-called World Masters Championships. Alida Abola also runs marathons. Your best time here is at 3:12 hours.
