Aline Terry

Aline Terry ( * in the 19th century in Princeton, New Jersey; † after 1894) was an American tennis player.

Life

In 1893 she won the American Tennis Championships in singles against Augusta Schultz in two sets 6-1 and 6-3 and the doubles competition with Harriet Butler against Augusta Schultz and M. Stone in two sets 6-4, 6-3. 1894 again reached the final in singles, but failed to Helen Hellwig with 5:7, 6:3, 0:6, 6:3 and 3:6.

In addition to their two tournament victories in tennis is about Aline Terry virtually nothing is known. By Juliette Atkinson is described as very slim player who is on the court like a cat moved and stretched with long " tiger leaps " for balls.
