Alireza Shapour Shahbazi

Alireza Shapour Shahbazi (Persian علیرضا شاپور شهبازی ) ( born September 4, 1942 in Shiraz, † July 15, 2006 in Washington, DC) was an Iranian Iranologe, historian and university professor. He was a professor at University of Shiraz, University of Tehran, University of London, Georg -August- University Göttingen, Eastern Oregon University, Columbia University and Harvard University. Shahbazi has dealt mainly with the pre-Islamic Persian history and wrote several articles for the Encyclopædia Iranica among others.
