Alkene is a Danish town with 234 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) in Skanderborg municipality in the east of the Jylland peninsula ( Eng.: Jutland ). It belongs to the parish municipality (Danish: Sogn ) Dover Sogn, the office belonged to the Danish municipal reform of 1970 Harde Hjelmslev Herred in the former Skanderborg, then to Ry municipality in the former Aarhus office. which merged with the next Danish municipal reform of 2007 in the enlarged Skanderborg municipality in Region Midtjylland.

The town has a station on the railway line Skanderborg Herning.
