All-Ethiopia Socialist Movement

The Gesamtäthiopische Socialist Movement, named after its Amharic abbreviation mostly Meison ( maella It'yop'ya Sosiyalist Nəqnaqe, also Ma'ison or Me'ison, in their own writing መላ የኢትዮጵያ ሶሲያሊስት ንቅናቄ ), is a socialist party in Ethiopia.

History

The Meison was founded in 1968 mainly by living both in Addis Ababa as well as in Europe or North America, academics and students and referred to in their analyzes and programmatic approaches to the Soviet brand of Marxism, most notably on the theory of non -capitalist development. The military government to support ( the Derg ), and was from 1976 to 1977, the ideologically dominant force there, many Meison members were at this time the attacks IHAPA victim - After initial skepticism, the Meison began - unlike the IHAPA.

After the fall of the Mengistu regime in 1991, the Meison again constituted as legal socialist party, but was unable to repeat its former importance. In 2003, she joined the opposition alliance United Ethiopian Democratic Forces.
