History

1983 Jules Shear wrote the song and took to a demo. Shear said in an interview: "It's really great. Cyndi Lauper sang a song of mine and I thought no one was interested in my works. Then it will be a top 5 hit ".

Lauper sings the song in A flat major. The song is set in a time signature and the tempo is 120 beats per minute. Lauper's vocals spanning one and a half octave above G3 and C5. The chorus was something of Lauper changed when she heard the high vocals in the demo and thought that this handle to the lead vocals.
