Allajbegi's Mosque

The Allajbegi Mosque (Albanian Xhamia e Allajbegisë ) is an ancient mosque in the village Burim, community Maqellara, in the district of Dibra ostalbanischen.

The exact date of construction is unknown. It is assumed, however, that the mosque was built in the 16th century to 1578.

The mosque is surrounded by a cemetery. The rural village Burim is located just two kilometers from the border with Macedonia off the main paths.

The mosque was declared in 1970 as a national cultural monument, two years after the dictator Enver Hoxha, Albania was declared an atheist state and Islam as a religion prohibited.
