Allan Bentsen

Allan Bentsen ( born August 21, 1968) is a Danish table tennis player. He was in the 1990s and early 2000s, one of the strongest players in Denmark.

Bentsen won a total of 24 titles at the Danish National Championships. In individual he won from 1991 to 1996 six times in a row, also again in 1999. Twelve times he won the doubles with various partners (Jan Harkamp, Finn Tugwell, Martin Monrad ) and five times in mixed doubles ( with Charlotte Polk and Mie Skov ). From 1989 to 2005 he participated in all 11 World Championships. Five times he was represented at the European Championships. He was European champion in 2005 with the team. Already in 2000 he had won the team bronze.

Bentsen played in several Danish clubs, but also abroad, for example in Sweden at Halmstad and Malmø FF and Croatia at STK Vecernji Zagreb. In 2005 he joined the German Bundesliga Werder Bremen where he (2009) plays today.

In 2009 he became European champion in the senior Ü40 in singles and doubles with Hendrik Vendelbo, 2010 Senior World Champion Ü40 in singles.

Private

Bentsen is married to the Croatian table tennis national team Eldijana Aganovic. He works as an employee of the Danish Table Tennis Association.
