Alone among farmers is a German comedy series, produced on behalf of Sat.1 of Phoenix movie. On 4 May 2007 Sat.1 announced that due to increasingly worse odds not another season would produce. The series was canceled after just ten episodes.

Content

John Waller to be Foreign Minister of Germany. By having an affair with the wife of the Austrian Ambassador, however, this is in danger, and he tries to reach the Chancellor to create this affair from the world.

However, on the way to her he caused an accident in the small Brandenburg town Kudrow and is treated by the doctor Barbara Heinen, which gives him a sedative. When the politicians wake up the next day, the Chancellor is no longer available and has already awarded the post of foreign minister otherwise.

Because he feels betrayed by his party friends and his political career is over, he assumes the post of mayor of the small Brandenburg town Kudrow. In the other episodes will be shown how the formerly successful politicians moved in the environment of the indigenous inhabitants of the village. The crux of the series refers to the fact that Waller always wants to introduce something spectacular in the village, but there will always be prevented by something. Be it as the fact that he wants to make a pilgrimage Kudrow or wants to build a new power plant in Kudrow, it always goes wrong.

Finally, the Office of the Prime Minister of Brandenburg he is offered. To win the race against its competitors Müller, the incumbent Brandenburg Interior Minister, he wants a staged PR exercise - draw attention to themselves - with the help of two reporters. The locations of the series are Berlin and Brandenburg. The scenes of the fictional town Kudrow were shot largely in Gröben at Ludwig field.
