Allen Stanford

Robert Allen Stanford ( born March 24, 1950 in Mexia, Texas) is an American businessman, financier and convicted fraudster system.

Life

Stanford was born in Mexia, Texas. His father was mayor of Mexia and the board of the company Stanford Financial Group. His mother was a nurse. The parents of Stanford divorced in 1959. Stanford remained with his brother with his mother. Both parents were married again. Stanford graduated from high school in Fort Worth, Texas. 1974 graduated from Stanford in finance at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. 1975 married Susan Stanford Stanford, with whom he has a son. Stanford and his wife currently live separately. In the early 1980s Stanford was engaged in the real estate industry in Texas. He worked for his father, James Stanford, until it withdrew in 1993 from the company Stanford Financial Group and his son left the control of the company.

The Stanford owned company Stanford Financial Group was led by him as CEO. Stanford has in addition to his U.S. citizenship dual citizenship of the country Antigua and Barbuda. He was honored by the Commonwealth with the Knighthood by the Governor-General of Antigua and Barbuda James Carlisle.

As Cricketfan founded and sponsored the Stanford Cricket Tournament Stanford 20/20 in Antigua and Barbuda.

Beginning of 2009, international media reported an investigation of U.S. authorities against Allen Stanford. He was accused to have a period of 20 years, investors around 7 billion U.S. dollars cheated ( 5.3 billion EUR ). On 19 June 2009, Stanford turned the police. On 14 June 2012 Allen Stanford was sentenced by a court in Houston, Texas to 110 years in prison. He had previously declared innocent of all charges.
