Allendorf, Thuringia
Allendorf is a municipality in the district Saalfeld- Rudolstadt, in Thuringia. The municipality belongs to the administrative community median Schwarzatal, which has its administrative headquarters in the municipality seat village.
Geography
Allendorf lies on a desk- shaped plateau between Schwarzatal in the south and in the north Rinnetal. It falls steeply to the south of the village Schwarzatal from and there is wooded with maples and lindens, while slopes gently to the north of the town into Rinnetal. This area is deforested and used as pasture.

History
The village was first mentioned in 1221 or 1196-1210.
Not far north of the village lies the Holy Mountain. To the north below the summit is the bear cave, were found in the bones of deer, wild horses and wild cats.
In the village there was a manor with 100 hectares of productive area that was leased in 1923 by Walter Oertel. After the Second World War, the operation was subject to the development of agriculture in the GDR.

The honorary mayor Walter Oertel was elected on 27 June 2004. There is a local partnership with Allendorf ( Lumda ).
Economy and infrastructure
Most Allendorf work in the cities of the environment, for example in Königsee Rottenbach or Saalfeld.
The largest company is the company Königsee implants and instruments for osteosynthesis GmbH with 140 employees in the district of Aschau. The second-largest operating company is the metal processing Bach Allendorf, with about 30 employees. There, turning, milling and bending parts are manufactured and distributed from metallic materials. There are also some smaller craft. A secondary source of income is tourism. Previously, also sheep and cattle farming is important.
From Allendorf roads lead to Aschau, Bechstedt, Königsee Rottenbach, Oberhain, Black Citadel and Lower Köditz. On 27 June 1900, the resort has received a railroad connection at one kilometer east railway station Bechstedt - Trippstein Schwarzatal the web.
