Allerdale

Allerdale is a local government district with the status of a borough in the county of Cumbria in England. Administrative center is the city of Workington; significant sights are Cockermouth, Keswick and Maryport. Known worldwide is the nuclear center in the village of Seascale Sellafield.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Borough Workington, the Urban District Maryport, Cockermouth and Keswick and the Rural District Cockermouth and Wigton. He initially had the status of District 1995 and received those of a Borough.
