Alliance of Independent Social Democrats

Savez nezavisnih socijaldemokrata, SNSD / СНСД ( Serbian Cyrillic Савез независних социјалдемократа; German Alliance of Independent Social Democrats ) is a social democratic will of the Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina Party.

It was ( Stranka nezavisnih socijaldemokrata ) founded in 1996 as a party of the independent Social Democrats. Its members previously belonged to the club nezavisnih poslanika. After the merger with the Democratic- Socialist Party ( Demokratska socijalistička stranka ) 2001 the Commission adopted its present name. The SNSD was from 2002 to 2008 and an associate member from 2008 to 2012 a full member of the Socialist International. But the social-democratic aspect of the program is entered into the background in favor of nationalist politics since the 2006 election campaign. The party was expelled in August 2012 from the Socialist International.

The party is led by Milorad Dodik since its inception. From 1998 to 2001 and 2006 to 2010 he was Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska within Bosnia and Herzegovina. Another member of the party, Nebojša Radmanović, was elected in 2006 as a Serbian representative in the three-member collective presidency of. The President of the Republika Srpska is also provided by SNSD since 2006. In Milan Jelic followed after his death in 2007 Rajko Kuzmanovic and 2010 the party leader Milorad Dodik.

2006

In the elections for the Chamber of Deputies ( House of Representatives ) Bosnia - Herzegovina in October 2006, the SNSD the most votes won with 19.1 % in the whole state. In the Republika Srpska, the party could unite 46.9 % of the votes. The SNSD provides 7 of 42 MPs and is due to the selection mode, only third-largest faction. Compared to 2002, this result represents a strong gain, at that time there were only 10.1% ( 22.4 % of the vote in the Republika Srpska ) and 3 seats.

In the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska were 41 ( 22 ) of 83 deputies to the Independent Social Democrats. They were chosen by 43.3% ( 21.5 %) of the voters.

The SNSD was so clearly the strongest party in the Republika Srpska, sparking the SDS from which could unite around 40 % each of the votes in the Republika Srpska since the war ended.

2010

In the elections of October 2010, the SNSD suffered on light losses. It reached 38.0% and 37 seats in the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska and 8 seats in the parliament of the state as a whole, all from the RS.
