The U.S. aircraft engine Allison V- 3420 was a piston engine with 24 cylinders.
History
The United States Army Air Corps commissioned in 1937, the Allison Engine Company with the development of large-volume and high-performance aircraft engine. Since the measures provided for this engine aircraft were not built in large numbers, created between 1941 and 1945 only about 150 engines.
Construction
The V- 3420 basically consisted of two 12 -cylinder Allison V -1710, whose crankshaft coupled in a common crankcase ran.
