Alloclita recisella

Alloclita recisella is a butterfly (moth ) from the family of the splendor butterfly ( Cosmopterigidae ).

Features

The moths reach a wingspan 9-15 mm. The head gleams white ocher. The antennae are curled dark brown and grayish white. The thorax is ochreous white and speckled gray greatly. The tegulae are ocher color white, the rear part is not speckled. The forewings are ochreous white with gray-brown mix. The first sixth is gray-brown and has a slanted inwardly extending dark gray outer border. In the middle of the Costa loader is a wide gray-brown fascia that becomes narrower to the wing inner edge and can be interrupted. Internally it is defined by a more or less distinct dark gray band, which turns into the wing center to the apex. The apical region is separated from the central gray brown and binding by a narrow yellowish white ribbon. The fringe scales are ocher gray. The hind wings shining gray and rough scaly. The abdomen is dark brown, the segments are rear banded gray-brown. The after tuft is gray-brown. The drawing on the front wings is highly variable. It ranges from a very light base color with distinct binding to almost completely gray brown wings with only indicated by a dark brown border napkins.

In the males, the left brachium is slightly longer than the Tegumen, dilated and bent at the top. The right brachium has dorsally before the middle of a bulge, the apex is flattened. The Tegumen is square, the Valven are spatulate. The Valvellae are slender and curved.

In females, the apophyses are roughly equal in length. The sterigma is only weakly sclerotized and has the shape of an oval plate. The ostium has a semi- circular band and is laterally strongly sclerotized. The ductus bursae is only half as long as the corpus bursae. The corpus bursae has two sickle-shaped and thorny Signa.

Dissemination

Alloclita recisella is to Cyprus and Israel native to the Mediterranean from Portugal and Spain.

Biology

The biology of the species is unknown. Moths were collected in May and from July to September.
