Allon-Plan

The Allon Plan is a 1967 by the Deputy Prime Minister of Israel, Yigal Allon, imagined concept for the colonization of the West Bank (West Bank).

The plan was extended in 1970 and was in the final version before, it mainly consisted of two major points:

  • The Jordan Valley, East Jerusalem and the surrounding area, the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea Hebron and Gush Etzion of the area should be populated Israeli and become part of Israeli territory, from military and religious and nationalistic reasons. Jerusalem should be united with the Arab eastern part and form the so-called " eternal and undivided capital of Israel " because of its unique Judaism religious sites.
  • The densely populated Arab ridge to the north and south of the West Bank should remain Arab. First, here the formation of an Arab-Palestinian statelet was favored, but the Israeli government quickly came to the conclusion these areas, including a corridor near Jericho Jordan as a basis for peace negotiations offer. King Hussein rejected the Israeli proposal from the end of September 1968 on the grounds that the solution he could not explain to his people, if it was not the "Arab mind " acceptable.
