Alma Gluck

Alma Gluck (May 11, 1884 in Iasi, Romania, † October 27, 1938 in New York; former name Reba fine son ) was an American opera singer (soprano ).

Beginning of the 20th century it was one of the most famous singers in the world.

Life

Alma Gluck was of Russian Jewish descent. At the age of six, she came to the U.S.. She studied singing with Arturo Buzzi - Peccia, Jean de Reszke and Marc Sembrich. From his first marriage (1902 ) with Bernhard Gluck she had the daughter Abigail Marcia, Marcia Davenport later writer. In 1914 she married the violinist Efrem Zimbalist. From this marriage the children Marie ( born 1915 ) and Efrem Jr. ( born 1918 ) were born.
