Alnwick Castle

Alnwick Castle is a castle in the English Alnwick, Northumberland. It is to Windsor Castle is the second largest needle seat of England and the ancestral home of the Percy family, whose members since the beginning of the 14th century held the title of Earl of Northumberland and their leader since the 18th century bears the title of Duke of Northumberland.

History

Alnwick Castle is the guardian of one of only three remaining intact English longbow, which stems not from archaeological finds (time capsules). He comes from the Battle of Hedgeley Moor ( 1464 ) during the Wars of the Roses and was obtained from the owners of the castle over the centuries.
