Alnwick (District)

Alnwick was a District in the county of Northumberland in England. Administrative headquarters was the town of the same name Alnwick. For District were also the places Amble and Rothbury.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the urban districts Alnwick and Amble, and the Rural Districts Amble and Rothbury. On 1 April 2009 in addition to all other Alnwick in Northumberland Districts were abolished and incorporated into the new unitary authority Northumberland.
