Aloe Blacc

Aloe Blacc ( born January 7, 1979 in Los Angeles, California; really Egbert Nathaniel Dawkins III) is an American singer, soul singer and rapper. His music includes elements from soul, R & B, reggae, hip -hop and jazz.

Career

Blacc began his career in 1995 as hip-hop MC in the rap group Emanon.

His first solo album Shine Through was released in 2006 on Stones Throw Records. This contains was a cover version of John Legends song Ordinary People Gente as full professor.

His song I Need a Dollar was used for the opening credits of the HBO television series How to Make It in America. In 2010, the song placed in all German-speaking countries in the top 5 of the charts, received in Germany for 150,000 units sold a gold record and was ranked 35 of the German charts of the year. In the UK the song was released in April 2011. After it initially difficult enough, it also managed there in the sixth chart week to enter the top 10 until June 6, 2011 I Need a Dollar in the UK was able to sell 400,000 copies.

When 1LIVE Plan B Session also a German -language version as an acoustic version with the title I need added euros.

Blacc composed the song At All for Lena Meyer -Landrut, which is available on their album Good News.

In the summer of 2013, the single Wake Me Up, produced by Avicii has been published. Singer and co - author was without being officially called Aloe Blacc. The single topped the success of I Need a Dollar, reaching in most European countries, # 1 on the charts. Later in the year Blacc published its own version of the song.
