Alois Hugo Nellmapius

Alois Hugo Nellmapius ( born May 5, 1847 in Budapest, † July 27, 1893 ) was a South African businessman and industrialist.

He grew up in Vienna, studied in the Netherlands and arrived in 1873 aboard the Nathan in South Africa.

He was successful in the search for gold in Pilgrim 's Rest, Mpumalanga, and received in 1875 the first transport concession for Maputo Bay. For the construction of Nellmapius Road, he was rewarded with four farms.
