Alois Stadlober

Alois Stadlober (* April 11, 1962 in Jews Castle, Styria ) is a former Austrian cross country skier, lawyer and sports official and currently a businessman and a co-commentator of the Austrian TV station ORF.

Career

Alois Stadlober was active as a high performance athlete in Cross Country World Cup from 1977 to 2000 and was crowned in 1999 at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Ramsau am Dachstein together with Markus Gandler, Christian Hoffmann and Mikhail Botwinow world champion in the relay race 4 x 10 km. Just a few days later he won the silver medal over 10 km in a classic style and grabbing himself also an individual medal at a major event. In his long career was in Austria for many years the best cross-country skiers oftmaliger Austrian champion and took it to a total of well over five appearances at the Winter Olympics.

After his playing career, he decided to start his own company in order to give the cross-country skiing, a new Image with his colleague Markus Gandler. Together with partners from tourism and economy succeeded the Managing Director of Gandler & Stadlober Nordic Ski GmbH to organize in recent years top events. In addition, he has also worked as coordinator of the Nordic Skiing Styria. Alois Stadlober is married to the former Austrian alpine skier Roswitha Steiner. The Austrian cross-country skier Teresa Stadlober is his daughter.
