The 30 Timor- Alor - pantar languages ​​( TAP ) form a language family of Papua languages. They are spoken in the Lesser Sunda Islands Timor, Alor, pantar, Kisar and Liran. The most commonly spoken languages ​​in the language family are Makasae and Bunak, each with about 100,000 speakers.

Classification

The Timor- Alor - pantar languages ​​belong to the Trans - New Guinea languages.

The language family is divided into at least two subgroups: Timor- Kisar ( even Timor) and Alor - pantar - Makasai. Ethnologue lists a further subgroup Tanglapui.
