The radiant of the meteor stream alpha Monocerotiden is about 5 ° south-east of Procyon. Usually are observable at the maximum of Alpha Monocerotiden 5 meteors per hour. However, in the years 1925, 1935, 1985 and 1995, an increased activity of several hundred meteors per hour was sighted.
