Alpina Watches

Alpina is a Swiss watch brand. It was 1883, the Alpina Union Horlogerie S. A. ( German name: Swiss watchmaker Cooperative (SUG ) ) by Gottlieb Hauser founded in Biel. It was a cooperative of merchants and manufacturers, which had the procurement of and wholesale of high quality wristwatches and pocket watches and their parts and works to the goal.

From 1890 the company owned its own administration building and a warehouse in Biel. 1899 Hauser was appointed chief executive, and a branch in Berlin was founded under the leadership of director Emil Rothmann, the Dugena emerged from the 1946 in Darmstadt.

1905 counted more than 20 companies to co-operative. 1908 Alpina Horologère Union was founded, which was disbanded in 1972.
