Alpthal

Alpthal ( in local dialect Alpel [ ɑlpəl ] or Doerfli ) is a village, a valley community and municipality in the district of Schwyz in the canton of Schwyz.

Geography

The municipality consists of the villages Alpthal, SZ Brunni and equity. The valley is drained by the Alp.

History

In 1018, Emperor Henry II the Albetal Einsiedeln Monastery. According to a deed dated 1217 In March dispute between the abbey and Schwyz spoke Count Rudolf of Habsburg the old valley to the people of Schwyz, which was confirmed by the Peace of 1350.

Economy

With access to the adjacent slopes by cable cars (1950, Brunni Holzegg ) and ski lifts (1965, Brunni; Haggenegg 1974 ) especially the location at the northern foot of the myths Brunni hamlet has gained a certain notoriety.
