The Alsterån is a river in eastern Småland in southern Sweden. It has its origin in the lake Alstern. From there it flows in an easterly direction at the locations Alstermo, Alsterbro, Blomstermåla and Ålem over to Kalmar, where it empties in Pataholm. Here it flows through the lake Allgunnen in which coming from the north its biggest tributary, the Badebodaån opens. Including headwaters of the river length of 150 km. The catchment area of 1524.8 km ². The average discharge at the mouth is 10 m³ / s
Below the Hornsö hydropower plant, there are anadromous sea trout in the river.
