Alston Wise

Joseph Alston Wise ( born October 29, 1904 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, † September 23, 1984 in Vancouver, British Columbia) was a Canadian ice hockey player. In the 1932 Olympics he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team.

Career

Alston Wise began his career as a hockey player at the University of Manitoba, where he was active from 1921 to 1923. Later he joined the Winnipeg Hockey Club. In the 1930/31 season he won with the Winnipeg Hockey Club the Allan Cup, the Canadian Amateur Championship. At the Winter Games in 1932, he represented Canada at the Winnipeg Hockey Club. In 2004, he was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame.

Internationally

For Canada Wise participated in the 1932 Olympics in Lake Placid in part, in which he won the gold medal with his team.
