Alternate (company)

The Alternate Computer Versand GmbH (proper spelling: ALTERNATE ) is a hardware - order company based in Linden. That in February 1992 as a subsidiary of Wave Computer Systeme GmbH (own spelling: WAVE), founded company sells its products primarily through its own online store and a private call center. Furthermore maintains Alternate in Linden, three stores. There are separate offices in the Netherlands and Belgium. In addition, Alternate maintains the professional e-sports clan Team Alternate.

Industrial end-user are managed by a separate department (Alternate B2B).

The company currently employs about one thousand employees.

History

The company was founded in 1992 in Giessen. In 1996 it moved to a new building in neighboring Linden. The online webshop was launched on 15 October 1997. A year later the opening of an office in Ridderkerk. In 2000, an approximately 3,500 square meter logistics center was opened in Linden. A year later a branch office in Madrid. In 2004, the logistics center was expanded to 5,800 square feet. The Dutch branch moved into a new building in 2005 with 5,600 m² of floor space. In 2006, Alternate an adjacent 15,000 -m ² sports park (Alternate Sports Park ). 2007 offices in Vienna and Aartselaar (Belgium ) were opened. In October 2008, Alternate took a second logistics center in operation at the company's Linden. The branch in this street up in the 23rd district of Vienna was closed on March 31, 2011.

2003 ALTERNATE aTTaX (now Team Alternate ) established a funded by the company e-sports communities, the training building is in Linden available.
