Althea Gibson

Althea Gibson ( born August 25, 1927 in Silver, South Carolina, † 28 September 2003 in East Orange, New Jersey) was an American tennis player.

She won the first colored player at the French Open, U.S. Open and Wimbledon. The victory at Roland Garros she succeeded in 1956 and 1957. 1958, she was twice each victorious at Wimbledon and Forest Hills. In 1958, she ended her active career.
