Geography

Altheim situated at about 360 m above sea level. A. height in the Inn Valley at the edge of Innviertler hill country in the Talung the Mühlheimer Ache ( Ach).

The expansion of the municipal territory is 6.9 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 5.9 km; the total area is 22.6 km ². In this case, the area extends from the Altbach estuary and the Castle Stable 5 ½ miles south-east along the brook until shortly before polling, and even a piece of the St. Veit Bach up, north up to the Innviertelbahn, northeast to the Geinberger forest, and southwest of the Altbach up until deep into the forest Gaugshamer.

History

In the year 903 Altheim is first mentioned in a document. Altheim was raised by Duke William V of Bavaria on July 6, 1581 to the market. The place was in the 1779 Austro peace of Teschen with the entire Innviertel.

Following the establishment of local churches 1848/49, the control communities were star and Weirading the town of Sankt Laurenz together ( January 1, 1851). 1938, when after connecting everywhere in Austria large communities were formed, the communities Altheim and St. Lawrence to a community ( January 1, 1939) combined. The community became a town in 2003.

Municipal seat is the town of Altheim. It is situated in the municipal area at the Mühlheimer Ache.

The core of the city is the cadastral Altheim, the original community Altheim until 1938. Has 44.38 hectares. It extends right and left river and a piece about a kilometer downstream. The corresponding Zählsprengel Altheim center includes more than 300 buildings with about 1000 inhabitants. The other two local villages, Stern and Weirading include Altheim completely.

To Altheim still include the now widely ingrown places that are the village of Sankt Laurenz, the settlement Muckenau and Oberach left river, and Sankt Ulrich right, and Danglfing, some more remote houses, located north-west against the municipal boundary at Stötting (stop Mülheim the Innviertelbahn ) extend.
