Altitude above ground level

AGL is the abbreviation for above ground level.

In aviation altitude are accompanied by the words AGL when it comes to a height above the ground. In contrast, heights refer to the additional MSL to sea level (see above sea level ). In both cases, the heights generally and internationally uniform in feet ( ft ) can be specified. Commonly used in aviation is also the height of speech when it comes to a height AGL and altitude when the height to MSL applies.
