Altınkaya Dam

The Altınkaya Dam ( Turkish Altınkaya Baraji ) was applied on Kızılırmak in Samsun in northern Turkey for the purpose of energy production.
A hydroelectric power plant generates here with four Francis turbines with an output power of 4 x 175 = 700 MW, in 1632 GWh. Was 1987/1988 into operation. The water is passed through a 1700 m long tunnel with a diameter of 9.8 m.
The shut-off of the dam is a rockfill dam with clay core one.
