Altobello Melone

Altobello Melone ( also Altobello Meloni ) (c. 1490-1491; † before May 3, 1543 ) was a top Italian painter of the Renaissance.

Life

It is believed that Altobello Melone 1490-1491 was born in Cremona. After the speeches Marcantonio Michiels Altobello was a pupil Girolamo Roma Ninos. In December 1516, he was commissioned to decorate the coffin wall of the cathedral of Cremona, decorated with frescoes, which should show scenes from the life of Jesus. Altobello completed the work on the mural to 1518; they make based on their signature " DE ALTOBELLUS MELONIBUS " the only secured for Altobello Melone works dar. died before 3 May 1543.
