Altunhisar

Altunhisar is a town and a district in the Turkish province of Nigde. The city is located about 30 kilometers west of the provincial capital of Nigde.

The district is located in the west of the province and is bordered to the west by the provinces of Konya and Aksaray and to the counties Çiftlik in the north, east and Nigde in the boron in the south. In the north of Altunhisar is the 2963 meter high Melendiz Dagi. Right across the border with the province of Aksaray is the 3268 meter high volcano Hasan Dagi. To the west runs over the pass Hamburun Geçidi a road to the E-90, which runs from Ankara to Tarsus.
