Aluminiumdiacetat is an aluminum salt of acetic acid and one of the Aluminiumacetaten.
Production and representation
The Aluminiumdiacetat can be represented directly by bringing sodium aluminate with acetic acid to the reaction.
Use
The diacetate place in medicine because of its antiseptic, astringent and cooling effect used in the treatment of insect bites, bruises and sprains, but never on open wounds. It is often referred to herein as aluminum acetate. Aluminum acetate often contains tartaric acid as a stabilizing agent. Aluminiumdiacetat is also used to impregnate cotton or mixed fibers, for example for groups or large tents use. It is also used as a mordant in the textile dyeing.

Since 1977 Aluminiumdiacetat is listed in the list of essential drugs of the World Health Organization.
